This online, intermediate wine course will lead to a core knowledge of wine and the wide range of wines from around the world.
It is aimed at wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs who wish to learn about wines in a rigorous and structured manner and gain recognised wine certification.
It is the first of two advanced courses in the Assemblage Programme and allows persons with no wine knowledge or those with such wine knowledge, to advance their understanding and enjoyment of wine.
A. ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
Besides a fair knowledge of English and some basic computer skills, there are no other entrance requirements.
We recommend that prospective students take the readiness test to see if e-learning is for them. A trial class is also available as indicated on the school's website, which also features snapshots of the virtual classroom to show how it all works.

Refund Policies
Refund policies of WINE CAMPUS are consistent with European legal requirements.
There is a 7 days cooling off period. Once a student has registered, withdrawal from the programme must be made in writing (email or otherwise) directly to the registrar. Cancellations which occur within one week from payment will be reimbursed but subject to a cancellation fee of € 30 or USD 45.
After the 7 days cooling off period, the applicant will be held responsible for the course fee and refunding is at the discretion of the registrar.
If an organisation requests an invoice for a place on a course for one of its
employees, and that employee, at any time subsequent to the invoice being
raised, leaves the organisation's employ, for whatever reason, the organisation
which requested the invoice remains liable to pay the full course fee.

Students may opt to sit for an online examination at the end
of the course, and successful candidates will be awarded the "Brevet
of Wine" by Wine Campus.
Certification will help career enhancement.
D. Brevet of Wines - TOPICS and COURSE CONTENTS
Lessons and lectures have been tailored and carefully embedded into a well considered pedagogical framework. They have been distilled with kind permission from authors’ notes, peer reviewed journals, research data, and published works of wine experts at various University Departments of Viticulture and Oenology, in the USA and Europe. The course is taught by WINE CAMPUS and expert guest lecturers.

These 15 online lessons are supported by several online resources, video clips, blogs, podcasts, interactive wine maps, specialist glossaries, extra reading material, online access to a tutor and interaction with fellow students, obligatory written assignments, wine tasting tasks covering a list of 30 wines (wine samples not included / students may be exempt for religious or other reasons), one short composition, one essay, quizzes and a test at conclusion of the course.
In this course you will be exposed to:
VITICULTURE
Origins and history of wine, the vine and different grape varieties, vineyard operations and a year in the life of a vigneron, sustainable viticulture and the meaning of terroir.
WINEMAKING
making red, white and rosé wines, techniques for sparkling and fortified wines, maturation and blending, bottling, packaging.
MAJOR WINE REGIONS, TYPES and STYLES OF WINE
Labelling regulations, history, culture and traditions in wine producing countries France, Italy, Spain, Germany, and the rest of the world.
WINE EVALUATION
Professional wine evaluation based on visual and organoleptic properties. Assessment of quality in relation to commercial position.

F. FAQ
Q. Can the examination be retaken?
A. Yes, provided a period of 3 months has lapsed. During this extended period the student still has full access to all lectures and can prepare for the re-sit.
Q. Upon passing the examination and assessments, what does the graduate receive?
A. First and foremost, the candidate will receive the frame-quality certificate 'Brevet of Wine' endorsed by WINE CAMPUS.
Q. How much does the examination cost?
A. All examination fees are included in the tuition fee for all candidates that have enrolled in the programme. There is a postage fee for sending the Certificate and lapel pin.
Q. Is the examination confidential?
A. Yes. You will be assigned a candidate number. The examination will be identified by this number, not your name. The results will be emailed to you first, then your employer and only if you have been sponsored.
Q. Is there a mock examination I can take?
A. Not really, but there is a compulsory mid-term examination in the form of an online quiz which will prepare you for your final examination.
Q. How long will it take before I'm ready to take the examination?
A. You will need to have taken all lectures and completed all assignments, tasting tasks and handed in your essay. Usually students take between 10 months to 2 years to complete the course. There is no fixed schedule but the course is not completely self-paced either.
