This course is aimed at persons who already have a proven wine knowledge and have some knowledge of viticulture but require a short introduction to wine production, possibly for professional purposes.

It is also aimed at the serious hobbyist who wants to understand why certain wines taste the way they do.

This e-learning course consists of:

• 20 e-learning lectures and assignments
• A portfolio of 20 wines that have to be tasted during the course (not included in the course fee)
• A short examination at the conclusion of the course

Topics to be covered will be limited to winemaking and will include the following (a few examples): yeasts and micro-organisms, procedures at cellar, the role of oxygen, must adjustments, dealing with the fermentation process, controls and treatments, malo-lactic fermentation, carbonic maceration, blending, fining and filtration, bottling and oaking.
 

 

This course consists of 20 lessons and will be offered over a period of about 6 months to 1 year
