Getting e-started
Intro:
animated audio, one of the many media we
use.
E-learning is an educational system that
uses the Internet and other technologies and
media such as animation, audio, video and
printed material to reach learners
with busy schedules or in dispersed locations.
Lessons are delivered over the Internet via
modern but easy-to-use technology. Basically
you need a browser to go to your
virtual classroom.
Here lectures can be found and tutors and
students meet 24/7. Whether you have 5 or 55
minutes, lessons are always available.
Once you have registered for the course of
your choice you will receive confirmation of your
unique username and password.
You can then enter your login details to
access your course homepage or e-classroom.

The website will display a number of
courses as well as the course of your
choice.
Each course is divided into lessons, these
are, when appropriate, divided into separate
lectures (or topics).
You can browse and study these lessons in
any order you choose.
However, we have listed them in recommended
order of study, to enhance your learning
experience.
Not all lessons or lectures are available
from the start. They are posted as you
progress.
There's plenty course content which includes
lectures and notes, tasting tasks, news
articles, extra reading, podcasts and
videos.
You can open these by clicking on the title.
You can also always interact with other
students and your tutor.

Some lectures will conclude with an optional
or compulsory assessment and essays.
These tests will be multiple-choice
questions or will require a true/false
answer.
Essays will also be graded and each student
can view his grades.
Students need to successfully complete all
of the course tests and, in some
instances, practical assessments too.

The site is optimised to view in all
browsers but we recommend that you use the
latest version of Internet Explorer.
You will also need to have flash player
installed on your computer.
Please
to install for free.
The site is optimised for broadband users
for flash files.
If you have a dial up connection you may
experience delays in the download of flash
files.
